Wyoming School of Ministry
Have you sensed God stirring something deeper in your heart? Perhaps He is calling you into ministry, leadership, missions, chaplaincy, or simply inviting you to grow deeper in your understanding of His Word. Whatever that next step may be, I want to encourage you to say yes to what God is doing in your life.
The Wyoming School of Ministry exists to help people discover, develop, and deploy their God-given calling. Whether you are beginning the journey toward Assemblies of God credentials, credentialing up to the next level, preparing for ministry leadership, or simply desiring to become a stronger disciple of Jesus, WYSOM is designed with you in mind.
Beginning this August, WYSOM will offer one class per month, making it possible for students to pursue biblical education while balancing family, work, and ministry responsibilities. Through our partnership with Global University, you will receive quality, trusted biblical training that will deepen your understanding of Scripture and equip you for effective ministry.
Each class is only $105, paid monthly, providing an affordable pathway to theological education and credential preparation.
One of the unique benefits of WYSOM is that your learning won’t happen in isolation. In addition to your coursework, you’ll participate in monthly Zoom sessions with pastors and ministry leaders from across the Wyoming Ministry Network. These leaders won’t simply share knowledge, they will share real-life ministry experience, practical wisdom, victories, challenges, and lessons learned along the way. Their insight will help prepare you for the opportunities and responsibilities that come with God’s calling.
The call of God is too important to leave undeveloped. Whether God is leading you toward a pastoral role, chaplaincy, missions, church leadership, or simply toward greater spiritual maturity, WYSOM is here to help you grow.
My prayer is that you will take the next step of faith. Invest in your calling. Deepen your biblical foundation. Allow God to prepare you for everything He has planned for your future.
WYSOM will enrich your understanding of Scripture, empower you for ministry, and encourage you to step fully into all God has for you.
Don’t wait for someday. Take the next step today.

What is WYSOM?
The Wyoming School of Ministry (WSOM) is an in-state ministerial training program operated by the Wyoming Ministry Network.
Designed specifically to accommodate the geographic and cultural landscape of Wyoming, its primary purpose is to identify, equip, and credential local church leaders without requiring them to leave their communities or relocate to a traditional out-of-state seminary.
Purpose and Vision
In a sprawling, rural state like Wyoming, local churches often face the challenges of geographic isolation and a shortage of incoming clergy. The WSOM addresses this by focusing on homegrown leadership. The program allows “people in the pews”—ranging from lay leaders and volunteers to those feeling a delayed vocational calling—to pursue formal ministry training while maintaining their existing jobs, families, and local church commitments.
Curriculum and Credentialing
The school provides a structured, multi-level academic path that satisfies the official educational requirements for ministerial credentials within the Assemblies of God fellowship. The training is typically split into three primary tiers:
- Certified Minister: The foundational level, introducing students to basic theology, scriptural interpretation, and essential ministry practices.
- Licensed Minister: The intermediate level, which deepens doctrinal understanding, church leadership skills, and pastoral care.
- Ordained Minister: The highest level of credentialing education, focusing on advanced theology, organizational leadership, and long-term ministry strategy.
The curriculum covers core proficiencies including biblical fluency (genres, timelines, and exegesis), AG doctrinal distinctives, church history, ministerial ethics, and practical pastoral responsibilities.
Delivery Model
Because face-to-face fellowship can be difficult across the state, the school uses a hybrid approach to bridge the distance. It blends independent, self-paced study with digital or localized learning communities. Students complete assignments, watch targeted video instruction, and engage with course coordinators and instructors who evaluate their work and guide them through the credentialing interview process.
